Blyth Voices Folk songs collected in Southwold by Ralph Vaughan Williams in 1910 In 1910 the English composer RVW and his colleague George Butterworth visited Southwold on the Suffolk coast to note down folk songs from some of the town’s inhabitants. Some of the songs have rarely been heard since. This book contains the complete collection of 16 songs, giving a unique sense of time and place. Photographs and biographical details add to our understanding of the people who sang these songs and an introduction and notes provide further information on VW and the songs themselves.
