The First of My Rambles Folk Songs from Ulster - Roisin White Ulster certainly has one of the most prolific singing traditions to be found in Ireland and Roisin White has become one of the foremost song carriers. She was born near Kilkeel in Co. Down and remembers her mother singing all kinds of songs around the house which gave her a life-long interest in songs. Traditional culture is to do with absorption and this is what Roisin has done, yet every song she sings has been made her own through her robust and jaunty singing style. Now living in County Armagh and teaching the Irish language for a living, she spends her spare time singing: whether it be at a local session or one of the many singing weekends throughout Ireland, on one of her visits to England, or even at the annual Milwaukee Summer School in the USA. Long may she continue to do so! CD Listing 1. Maid of Mourne Shore (3.29) 2. Apprentice Boy (2.52) 3. Omagh Town (2.44) 4. By the Hush (3.09) 5. It was Early, Early All in the Spring (3.40) 6.
