EFDSS Internet Privacy Statement

This statement defines how the EFDSS collects, uses and safeguards the personal information you provide during your transactions.

1. Information collected on-line 

• We maintain information such as names, addresses and email addresses for  customers who have purchased goods from us
• We do not use 'cookies' on our web site
• We do not collect any personal information from casual visitors

2. Sharing of collected information

• We only collect the information required to complete a transaction. At the moment we do not use this personal information for anything other than internal use
• We may sometimes use this information to contact our customers to inform them of new publications
• Under no circumstances whatsoever will we disclose personal information other than as required by a duly empowered official
• We shall not sell, supply, rent or otherwise disclose any personal information to any person or organisation

3. What we can and will do at a customer's request

• We shall only keep information on transactions as required by law and this will be off-line and unavailable; other personal information will be destroyed if requested
• We will guarantee not to send any unsolicited messages, electronically or by post, if the customer requests this

5. Protecting the information on-line

• All systems used by us are protected using the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for all sensitive information transfer
• Credit card or charge card data is stored by HSBC who operate our payment system and not by the EFDSS
• Access to personal information within the company is limited on a strictly "Need to know" basis
• Our internal accounting system is password protected on a single computer accessible only by sales staff
